Atrial fibrillation (AF) patients are often high risk considering that most of them are elderly and have multiple comorbidities. In this lecture, Professor Gregory Lip discusses the different risk factors associated with the onset of AF as well as AF-related complications such as stroke and heart failure. He then provides a solution in the management of these high risk, multimorbidity AF patients where NOACs play a central role. He emphasizes that a proactive, integrated management of AF in a holistic, streamlined manner such as the ABC Pathway is critical.
