While anticoagulation is a central strategy in preventing ischemic stroke in patients with AF, acute hemorrhagic stroke may occur especially in patients with hypertension. In this webinar, Dr. Maria Cristina San Jose (University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital) discussed the management of acute hemorrhagic stroke in patients with AF and hypertension and the control of vascular risk factors. She explained the role of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants in maximizing patient outcomes by shifting the benefit-risk ratio of anticoagulation towards a lower risk of bleeding compared with warfarin. The webinar was chaired by Dr. Richard Henry Tiongco II (UP-PGH).

0.75 CPD Point upon completion.
