Endocrinology at Groote Schuur Hospital
- Professor Joel Dave is the current head of the Division of Endocrinology at Groote Schuur Hospital and the University of Cape Town.
- His publications include 53 in International Journals and 21 in Local Journals.
- Professor Dave was the Convener of the South African Insulin Pump Guidelines and Hypothyroidism Guidelines and acted as chairperson for many committees including: the African Endocrine Society (SEMDSA) 2012-2014; Chairperson: Association of Clinical Endocrinologists of South Africa 2014-2017.
- He is an Examiner for the Certificate in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism as well as a fellow of the College of Physicians (FCP) part 1.
- Although Professor Dave enjoys and has a great deal of experience in general endocrinology, his main clinical interests include thyroid disease, parathyroid disease, pituitary disease, osteoporosis and type 2 diabetes.
