This course are patient resources that discusses Type 2 Diabetes in relation to the heart and the kidneys. Over time, high blood sugar can damage blood vessels and the nerves that control your heart. People with diabetes are also more likely to have other conditions like high blood pressure, too much “bad” cholesterol and high triglycerides that raise the risk for heart disease. Mental health is also affected when caring for or living with patients with T2D. It is highlighted to do the following to manage mental health: Join online communities or support groups, Speak to close friends or loved ones about how you are feeling, Seek professional help if you're feeling anxious and depressed, Stay positive - a positive attitude can help you find hope, Exercise can help to calm anxieties.
