Description:

Even with the rise of information in diagnosing and managing Heart Failure, Heart Failure Preserved Ejection Fraction still poses a clinical diagnostic challenge for physicians. On the other hand, the wealth of treatment options for Heart Failure Reduced Ejection fraction cause concerns on initiation and effective polypharmacy.

This course is designed to provide healthcare professionals a review on the basics of Heart Failure. This is a 4-part course with the first part focusing on the identifying and diagnosing Heart Failure Reduced, Mildly Reduced and Preserved Ejection Fraction.

The second half of the course contains the basics on the role of Empagliflozin in the management of Heart Failure regardless of EF. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of empagliflozin, including its mechanism of action in both HFrEF and HFpEF. Key concepts such as sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibition and its impact on cardiovascular and renal systems will be elucidated.
